Google Takeout viewer for Google Photos archives

Look inside your Google Photos Takeout without unpacking 50 GB: drop the ZIP parts and browse folders and albums with each file's real date, location and matched JSON file, and preview photos.

Drop all your Takeout ZIP files here

Every part at once — takeout-…-001.zip, -002.zip … A photo's JSON is often in a different part. Files stay on your computer.

What you can do

Why it is fast with huge archives

A ZIP file has a table of contents at its end. The viewer reads that and the small JSON files, nothing else; a photo is only read when you open its preview. Your archive stays where it is, and nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I open a Takeout ZIP without extracting it?

Yes. Drop the ZIP parts here and browse them directly. Nothing is unpacked to your disk unless you save a fixed archive.

Why can't I preview HEIC photos?

Most browsers except Safari cannot display HEIC. The file is still listed with its date and is kept in the fixed archive.

Do I have to add all the ZIP parts?

Add them all at once if you can. Google often puts a photo in one part and its JSON file in another; the tool matches them across parts by folder. Each part becomes its own fixed ZIP, so you can extract them into the same folder just like the originals.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The ZIP files are read by your browser on your own computer and the fixed archive is written there too. Nothing is sent to a server — you can disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded and it still works.
